Hi. A Happy New Year!!
I'll finish reading "The Canterbury Tales" till next post!
~THE CANTERBURY TALES~
In this time, I read "The Friar's Tale". The story has a sense of fantasy because the main character meets one devil.
There was an important man in the church who was very bad. He wanted people's money. He caught people who did bad things and said, 'You can leave the church again if you give me a lot of money.'
One day, he wanted an old woman to give him money and then he met a devil who had a human's figure. The summoner had an idea that he got a lot of money from the old woman with the devil. The old woman began to cry and said 'I don't have any money! I didn't do any bad things! I hope that the blackest devil in the hell carries you(the summoner) away! And thecokking pot too!' . The devil asked her 'Do you really mean what you're saying ,madam?' and she answered 'Yes, I do! The devil can carry him away-clothes, cooking pot, everything!'......
The ending of the story surpried me so much! And I thought that the devil was gentle and obedient!
see you next time.....
